Downloading Offline Maps

Even without internet access, it is still possible to make observations in the CrowdWater app by pre-downloading spots and maps for offline display.

 Step-by-step: Downloading Offline Maps

  1. Tap the menu icon (☰) in the lower right corner.
  2. Select Offline Maps & Spots.
  3. Use your fingers to pan and zoom to the area you want to download and indicate the name of the map.
  4. Save this section of the map. This will start the download.
  5. The selected map area will now be available offline and can be used anytime – even without a network connection.

If you collect data while offline, your observations will be saved locally as waiting spots until your phone is back online.

How to View and Upload Waiting Spots

  1. Open the menu (☰).
  2. Tap Waiting Spots.
  3. A list of spots and observations that have not yet been uploaded will appear.
  4. Once you’re back online, your observations will be uploaded automatically.
